Hailing from a small town close to Palm Springs, where she never imagined a modeling career, Lindsay Ellingson’s childhood was marred by a struggle with scoliosis. After many years of painful physical therapy and back surgeries, the final result was having metal plates put into her back to support her rehabilitated spine. With a new lease on life, Lindsay found solace first in dance and then by teaching ballet to young children. On the eve of preparing to study marine biology at UC-San Diego, Lindsay was scouted on her college campus and with one test shoot to her credit, was sent by her new agency to Paris. At her first appointment, just off a plane and dressed in cut-off shorts and flip-flops, designer John Galliano promptly cast Lindsay in her first ever fashion show: opening Christian Dior Couture. 

Since then, Lindsay’s ethereal beauty has graced campaigns for D&G, Dolce and Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger, and has peered back from editorials in the British, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and German editions of Vogue, as well as GQ, Allure and Visionaire magazines. Meanwhile designers as varied as Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Givenchy, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors, Victor and Rolf, Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld and Salvatore Ferragamo have loyally cast Lindsay as a muse for runway shows in New York, Paris and Milan, and lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret tapped her to be one of the brand’s ambassadors, which firmly secured her place in fashion history as an “Angel”. 

Recently, Lindsay added entrepreneur to her list of accomplishments with the development and launch of Wander Beauty, a cosmetic line she co-founded and serves as creative director. Offered online and on QVC, Wander Beauty was inspired by Lindsay’s decade-long career traveling the globe and the many makeup tips she’s learned along the way. Designed for women much like herself—women who are constantly on the go, Wander is a testament to Lindsay’s tenacity and work ethic. 

When not working, surprisingly Lindsay loves to travel—often escaping her adopted hometown of New York City, with her husband and pet cockapoo in tow for skiing, beach excursions or hiking. Additionally, Lindsay loves to spend her off time reading books about her old loves: physics and biology, while also supporting cancer research and animal rights causes.
